I am trying to set up Thunderbird for a Hotmail account using Webmail,
but it keeps sending back "negative vibes" from Hotmail. How do I get
past this? Thanks.

are you using the webmail extension? If so, then look there.
You have to switch from the old version to the new one.

thats not really what I said. You have to go into the
webmail options and change from the old to the new live mail.
